Cybersecurity Capacity Building Workshop for Niger State Government Officials
In the spirit of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and in our pursuit of advancing cybersecurity in Africa, our team, in collaboration with the Niger State Ministry of Communications Technology & Digital Economy and the International Centre of Emerging Technologies at the Federal University of Technology Minna organized a one-day cybersecurity capacity building workshop for Government officials in the state.
At CYSED, we believe cybersecurity is for everyone. This workshop aimed to equip Government stakeholders with the knowledge to protect public information and enhance service delivery efficiency.
Highlighting the relevance of the Digital Economy and Cybersecurity to a country’s national growth and development, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna said that this new trend holds huge potential in job creation for the teaming unemployed youths in the country.
The Honourable Commissioner of Niger State Ministry of Communications Technology and Digital Economy, Suleiman Isah pointed out that cybercrime goes beyond just financially related offences on the internet as they also include unauthorized disclosure of confidential information in the public domain, adding that civil servants ought to take note of that in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
